2024 Lincoln sp 125 plus problems

Hello. Info please. I have a used lincoln sp-125 hd. I bought this for a upcomming thin-wall exhaust project. Thought id get in some practice for a while before i attempt the actual thing. By the way the 125 is pretty dam powerful. I am using .025 lincoln solid wire with NO gas as I dont have a tank yet.. Nprice

It usually feeds OK but every once in a while it will go in fits and starts. The problem is usually too much pressure on the nut (maybe a wing nut) that holds the wire spool in place. But check the whole feed path - only takes a minute or two. One sure sign is if the wire burns back in the contact tip. That could mean about 10 different things. Is this what is happening. John. It usually feeds OK but every once in a while it will go in fits and starts. The problem is usually too much pressure on the nut (maybe a wing nut) that holds the wire spool in place. But check the whole feed path - only takes a minute or two.Do this, you have to the wire back on to the reel. Once the gun is off, take a small piece of mig wire, bent into a u shape and poke it into the two gun switch cables. This will bridge the switch circuit and make the welder feed.
