The full res stills are stored separately in the Still path, as defined by the first path in Preferences - System - Media Storage, or manually in a project in the Project Settings - Master Settings - Working Folders area.

Select the Blade tool and cut the clip on the playhead. Move one frame forward with the right arrow key. Cut the clip on the playhead. Zoom in to see better. With your still in the Timeline hover the mouse curser over the front or the end and the trim tool will appear. click and drag to either extend or shorten the stills running time.
